FAQ

The Answers You Need

Teacher's Corner: FAQ

Who do I talk to in my building to gather resources for working with my students that have been diagnosed with Autism?

Most buildings have a process coordinator, speech pathologist, occupational therapist, language therapist, or school counselor either on site or assigned to them.  These individuals should be your first point of contact when looking for resources for your students with Autism.

What materials or interventions do I need to better serve my students with Autism?

Again, your process coordinator, speech pathologist, occupational therapist, language therapist, and/or school counselor should be able to direct you to the appropriate tools and resources for use in your classroom.  This information may also be included in the student's IEP (if they have one).

Where can I go to receive training or information about working with students with Autism?

There are several options to look at when seeking to educate yourself about Autism in the classroom. These can include             but are not limited to district offered work shops, workshops offered through Autism awareness groups, seminars, the               internet, and college courses.
